About Me

Placeholder Image This is the bit I don’t like, talking about myself - Originally I was and to a certain degree still am a motor-sport photographer who was dragged kicking and screaming along to photograph a wedding for one of my wife’s cousins - I found that I didn’t hate it as much as I thought, and in fact the thrill of producing something special for the bride and groom was just as great as getting the perfect shot of a car zipping past at over 100mph.

Placeholder ImageBecause of this background I’m used to working quickly, under pressure and to tight deadlines so I won’t be taking you away from your guests for hours on end. It also means I’m used to having only fractions of a second to capture that “one” shot if you want reportage style and whilst I might not get them all it won’t stop me trying!

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, actually that’s not quite true, I’m a lot of a perfectionist  when it comes to photography and will push myself hard to make sure that I get the best possible shots on your day.

Aside from trying to get the perfect shot every time my other passion is customer service, I’m one of these old fashioned people that think the customer comes first and this is the way I try to run my business at all times.

I use state of the art Canon SLR digital cameras and lenses which probably means nothing to you - but trust me they are more than good enough unless you fancy a wedding album that’s 3 ft by 2 ft, and even then they could probably cope.

I’m a member of the SWPP which means that I have the backing of one of the most prestigious and widespread photographic organisations in the UK - if I can’t make a wedding due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances then I can call on other photographers within the organisation to fill in for me.

Oh and last but not least some people have asked why the name Zen - well it’s nothing to do with any religion - I’m a firm believer in people finding their own way on that score - it’s more because of the whole calm image it portrays rather than anything else. It really is that simple - nothing complex or weird - oh, it also helps that it’s quite memorable!
